Established in 1885 James Sharp & Co offers independent investment advice tailored for each individual client. We act as Investment Advisors for many private and institutional clients, in all manner of investment vehicles, including ISAs, Pension Plans (mainly SIPP's), Trusts and private portfolios, etc. Our strategy has rewarded clients over many years with takeovers of well-known companies. We can trace our history back to 1885 when local banker, James Sharp, set up a stockbroking business in Bury, Lancashire. The company is still based in the town and maintains its belief in long-term asset situations and carefully researched investments, usually getting to meet the management before advising on any company to our clients. Although the company is now much different to how it was over 125 years ago, we still maintain our core values of tailoring services to each particular client, and searching out small to mid-cap companies with conservative management, strong cash-flow, robust balance sheets and a history of organic growth. Our investments are aimed more for the medium-long term, rather than trying to predict short term fluctuations in the market.
